Anne is a shy little girl on a hill east of Henesys. Easy to walk past. Plenty of new players never talk to her, and they leave EXP and citizenship points on the table. This guide covers where Anne MapleStory Classic players find her, what the two quests pay, and how she fits into the Henesys citizenship grind. We checked the numbers against MeowDB's quest tracker, so you won't need to guess. Here's the short answer. She's a Henesys resident you meet at The Hill East of Henesys. Reach level 12, sign the citizenship papers with Arthur, accept "First Greeting with Anne" from the Community Board, and talk to her to turn it in. A second quest, "Asking After Anne," follows right after. Anne MapleStory Classic

Where Do You Find Anne MapleStory Classic Players Keep Missing?

She lives on a map called The Hill East of Henesys, which sits off Victoria Road. No shop, no combat use. Nothing on your minimap flags her as important. Anne is only the turn-in point. The quests themselves start from the Community Board in Henesys.

What Do You Need Before You Can Start?

You need three things, and only one of them takes real time.
  • Character level 12 or higher
  • Grade 1 Henesys citizenship (called Traveler)
  • The intro quest from Arthur at the Henesys Town Hall
The intro quest hands out 5 Red Potions and 8 Blue Potions, so it's worth doing anyway. Citizenship is shared across every character on your account. Alts skip the signing step entirely, though they still need level 12 before the board shows the quest.

How Do You Get There From the Town Hall?

Walk east out of Henesys along Victoria Road. Find the portal up to the hill, which sits a little past the edge of town. The trip is short. Low-level mobs wander along the road, so keep your attack ready.
  1. Open the Community Board in Henesys and accept the quest.
  2. Leave town heading east.
  3. Enter the portal to The Hill East of Henesys.
  4. Click Anne and finish the dialogue.

Anne's Quest Chain, Step By Step

There are two quests, and they run back to back. Both are turned in to Anne herself.

First Greeting With Anne, The Town Resident

Arthur, the town clerk, wants you to say hello because he's been wondering how she's doing. Anne opens up slowly. She tells you that her mom says the grown-ups in Henesys are good people, so talking to you is fine. The reward is 334 EXP, 409 mesos, 100 Henesys Contribution and 8 Oranges. That's a solid bump at level 12, when 334 EXP is a real chunk of a level and the mesos cover a stack of potions from the Henesys shop without any grinding.

Asking After Anne, The Town Resident

The follow-up is shorter. You accept it from the same board and walk back to check on her. She mentions she's waiting for her mom, who researches plants, and plans to give her a four-leaf clover. This one pays 233 EXP, 286 mesos, 100 Henesys Contribution and 8 Lemons. Finishing it opens "First Greeting with Chief Stan," the next stop in the chain. That one asks for a much higher level, so don't expect to continue right away.
Quest EXP Mesos Contribution Item
First Greeting With Anne 334 409 100 8 Orange
Asking After Anne 233 286 100 8 Lemon
Both Together 567 695 200 8 Orange, 8 Lemon

Is Anne MapleStory Classic Content Worth Your Time?

In short: yes, but only as part of a routine. Two quests won't carry your level, and we wouldn't cross the map for her alone. Still, the whole detour takes a couple of minutes once you know the route, and the free fruit covers your first few fights. The contribution is the real prize. Every Henesys daily pays 100 points at grade 1, plus 25 for each grade above it.

How Does She Fit the Citizenship Grind?

Anne sits in the middle of a longer line of greetings. Pia comes before her, Chief Stan after, and you clear all three from the same board. Chief Stan's quest asks for level 32 according to the Henesys list, so it will wait for a while. A few numbers from the citizenship page help here:
  • Visitor, the second grade, needs level 17 and 1,500 contribution
  • Level 22 and 3,500 contribution get you Helpful Stranger
  • At level 32 and 9,000, Town Resident unlocks VIP dailies
  • In total, Henesys has 18 daily greetings
Town Resident VIP dailies pay 5,850 EXP, against 334 for a regular daily. That gap is why people grind contribution early. We'd say rush the grades if you play daily, and ignore them if you log in twice a week.

Pro Tips: Anne And Henesys Citizenship

  • Do Pia first: Her quest sits right before Anne's on the list. The tracker doesn't list it as a requirement, but running the greetings in order keeps your board tidy.
  • Promote before you turn in more: Contribution above a grade's cap is reportedly lost. Once you hit the number, talk to the citizenship NPC first.
  • Stock up on the rewards: Oranges and Lemons are cheap food. Keep them for the first grinding session after you turn in.
  • Bring an alt: Citizenship is account-wide, so a second character at level 12 can run the same chain with no signing step.

Common Mistakes Players Make With Anne

  1. Looking for her in Henesys town: She isn't there. Fix: take the portal east to The Hill East of Henesys.
  2. Starting at level 11: The quest needs level 12 and will not show up. Fix: kill a few more mobs and come back.
  3. Skipping the Community Board: Anne gives you nothing until you accept the quest. Fix: open the board first, then walk over.
  4. Switching towns by accident: Changing citizenship costs 100,000 mesos and each town tracks progress separately. Fix: stay in Henesys until you've finished the early grades.

Does Lag Ruin the Henesys Dailies?

It can. Henesys is a crowded hub right now, since the game went live on October 21. Channels are packed. A 150 ms delay turns a simple NPC click into a retry, and a dropped dialogue box means walking back. Our read: for quests like Anne's, a slow connection is annoying but not fatal. Grinding afterwards hurts more, because skills fire late and mobs land hits first. If that sounds familiar, our guide on how to fix MapleStory jitter is the place to start.

How Do You Check Your Connection First?

One honest caveat: ping numbers from a quiet afternoon say little about Saturday night. Check at the hour you actually play. Test before you blame the server. Your numbers tell you whether the problem is your house or the route to it.
  1. Close downloads, streams and cloud sync.
  2. Run a ping test and note the average.
  3. Compare it with a wired connection.

How ExitLag Smooths Out the Henesys Grind

ExitLag is not a VPN. It's a game connection optimizer that tests multiple network paths in real time and picks the fastest, most stable route to the game's servers. It doesn't encrypt traffic or hide your IP. For an MMO like this, stability matters more than raw speed. ExitLag's Multipath technology sends packets through several routes at once, so if one path spikes, another keeps you connected. That helps during peak hours, when Henesys is packed and rubber-banding shows up. Traffic Shaper is the other feature we'd use here. It keeps launchers and browser tabs from eating your bandwidth while you farm. ExitLag covers 4,000+ titles, with 1,500+ servers in 190+ countries. No VPN alongside it. The two fight each other and you lose the benefit. If you want to try it, grab the ExitLag Download and test it on a Henesys channel at peak time.

Final Thoughts On Anne MapleStory Classic

Anne MapleStory Classic quests are small, cheap and quick. You get 567 EXP and 695 mesos across both, plus 200 contribution and some fruit. Small. But free. And it moves your citizenship forward, which pays off at grade 5. Run them once per reset. Clear Pia in the same trip, and watch your grade so no contribution gets wasted.
