Aion 2’s item system is built around gear rarity, stat optimization, and enhancement progression. Every piece of equipment has a rarity tier, a primary stat block, optional secondary stats, and the ability to be enhanced with Enhance Stones. Understanding how gear works, where to find it, and how the stat system functions is the foundation of character progression in Aion 2.

The Core Stat System: Smite and Might
AION 2 Smite and Might are the two core damage stats for global release 2026.
Smite: Physical damage multiplier. Primary stat for Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, and Ranger.
Might: Magic damage multiplier. Primary stat for Sorcerer, Elementalist, Cleric, and Chanter in their damage-dealing builds.
Secondary stats on gear include:
- Critical Rate and Critical Damage
- Accuracy and Evasion
- Defense and Magic Defense
- HP and Mana
- Attack Speed and Cast Speed
- Flight Stat (on wing slots)
Gear Enhancement
The Gear Forge simulates enchanting (Enhance Stones + gold to reach +X, pity ramp included).
Gear enhancement works through a +1 to +X system:
- Acquire Enhance Stones (from dungeon drops, crafting, event rewards)
- Open the Enhancement interface and select a piece of gear
- Apply Enhance Stones to increase the gear’s enhancement level
- Higher enhancement levels add flat stat bonuses to all existing stats
- Enhancement has a pity system: failed attempts increase success chance until the next attempt succeeds
Enhancement is capped at specific thresholds (+12, +15, etc.) with bonuses at each milestone.
Abyss Gear
Players earn Abyss Points through PvP, which can be traded for some of the most powerful equipment in the game.
Abyss Gear is specifically tuned for PvP performance and is acquired through the Abyss Points currency, not dungeon drops. It represents a separate progression track that runs alongside PvE gear, and players who invest in both have flexible setups for different content.
Set Bonuses
Some Unique and Legendary items belong to equipment sets. Equipping multiple pieces from the same set activates set bonuses: additional stat lines that do not appear on individual pieces. Full set bonuses can be equal in value to several enhancement levels.
