What Happens at Each Milestone

Now Through September 29: Preparation Window

This is the longest window and the one where preparation decisions have the most lasting impact.

Mandatory before September 30:

• Sign up for the newsletter at aion2.plaync.com for the free Pagati companion pet and one additional pet from four options
• Purchase a Founder’s Pack on Steam or the PURPLE launcher if you want the September 30 Early Access head start
• Decide your faction (Elyos or Asmodian) and inform friends so you are on the same server
• Decide your class based on your planned playstyle and guild role
• Prepare a shortlist of 5 to 10 character names (popular names will be claimed within the first hour of Early Access)

Knowledge preparation:

KR/TW servers have been running since November 2025. Months of class guides, dungeon breakdowns, leveling routes, economy analyses, and PvP tier lists are available right now. September 30: Early Access Opens

Founder’s Pack owners will get a 5-day head start through Early Access on September 30, giving them an earlier opportunity to create characters and choose available names.

Day one priority order:

1. Log in as early as possible at your region’s opening time
2. Create your character and claim your preferred name before server traffic peaks
3. Begin the main story quest chain immediately without side detours in the first session
4. Gather Essence Extraction resources from every node you pass during questing
5. Extract all gear drops that are not upgrades to generate enhancement stones
6. Join or form your Legion before the first Sealed Dungeon session

What Early Access does NOT have:

• Cross-Server Market (opens post-launch when servers reach similar progression stages)
• Launch Servers (those open October 5 for free-to-play players)
• Abyss matchmaking against Launch Server players (Abyss is EA servers only during this window)

October 5: Free-to-Play Global Launch

The global free-to-play launch is when Launch Servers open and the full player population arrives. This date is more significant than Early Access in terms of social and economic dynamics:

• Guild recruitment opportunities explode as new players join without Founder’s Packs
• The broker and Server Market become significantly more active with larger population
• Dungeon queue times improve as the matching pool expands to include both Early Access and Launch Server players
• Abyss matchmaking expands beyond Early Access servers

For Early Access players, October 5 marks the moment their 5-day progression advantage meets the incoming population wave.

What the Pre-Launch Period Cannot Tell You

Two things will only become clear after servers open:

Server population distribution: Which specific servers attract the highest population, which faction has the larger player base on your server, and how queue times compare across servers.

Economy baseline: The initial prices for crafting materials, consumables, and early gear on the broker will be determined by supply and demand in the first 48 to 72 hours of Early Access. No amount of KR/TW research perfectly predicts this.

Both factors influence your early decisions (which server to commit to, which profession to prioritize based on market gaps). Make your initial decisions based on preparation but remain flexible in the first week.
