Black Desert’s July 30, 2026 patch is one of the largest in the game’s history. It introduces the 32nd class, a new progression support system that fundamentally changes how new and returning players reach endgame, the first phase of Edania Part 2, and a full event lineup. The patch size is approximately 6.42 GB (Steam may be larger).

New Class: Agent
Added Edward Henry Canary, “Agent,” as Black Desert’s 32nd Class. The maximum number of Character Slots has been increased: 44 to 47. All Adventurers have been granted 1 Season Character Ticket so that Agent can be created as a Season Character. All of Agent’s Main Weapon AP applies to Succession until Agent Awakening is released. Agent belongs to the “Skirmisher” Class Group. Agent’s Abyssal Legacy Skill will be added at a later date.
Key technical points for Agent:
- Agent’s Main Weapon AP fully converts to Succession AP until Awakening launches (winter 2026)
- No Ascension variant exists for Agent by design
- Season Character Ticket allows creating Agent as a Season Character immediately without spending Character Slots
HYPERBOOST: New Progression Support System
The addition of HYPERBOOST and the massive progression overhaul significantly lowers the barrier to entry for high-end gear at 750 Gear Score and fundamentally changes the seasonal leveling experience.
HYPERBOOST is Pearl Abyss’s most aggressive catch-up system to date. It provides material support for:
- Sovereign weapons: Blackstar weapons, Embers of the Primordial, Gem of Twilight
- Progression acceleration: compressed path to 750 GS that previously required weeks of consistent farming
- New and returning player targeting: the system is designed specifically to close the gear gap between veterans and players starting fresh or returning after time away
The HYPERBOOST Season Pass (separate event item) extends the core HYPERBOOST benefits with additional milestone rewards across the August event period.
Edania Part 2 Phase 1: Sulfur Golem Monster Zone
The first phase of Edania Part 2 opened globally on July 30 alongside Agent’s launch:
Sulfur Golem Monster Zone: A new endgame grinding zone in the Edania Part 2 content area. The zone features:
- Sulfur Golem enemy types with new combat patterns requiring ability interruption mechanics
- New accessory drop table (Ekreta and Aperon accessories from boss drops)
- Compatible with the new Hammer of Causality for accessory enhancement
- Available immediately for characters meeting the AP/DP requirements
Subsequent Edania Part 2 phases (seven total bosses, Inner Edania, Life Artifacts, Godslayer’s Armor outfit) will arrive in future updates.
System and UI Changes
Skill UI: Changed the Awakening tab in the Skill (K) UI to be deactivated for classes whose Awakening is not yet released.
This change directly responds to player confusion about Agent’s Awakening status. The Awakening tab no longer shows for Agent until Pearl Abyss releases the Awakening content, preventing players from expecting non-existent skill options.
Class Introduction page: Agent added to the official website’s Overview and Class Introduction pages. The page now displays class icons and names on mobile devices. Fixed the incorrect listing of Archer as Awakening (should be Ascension).
Pearl Shop UI: Changed the Dye (J) UI and Pearl Shop (F3) to prevent switching to combat stance while View Underwear is enabled.
Community board: Fixed the issue where < and > symbols could not be used in certain posts.
Crystal Fix
Fixed the issue where some stats from Bonghwang’s Tear and Girin’s Tear crystals were not applied correctly.
Players who noticed their crystal stats appearing inconsistently should verify their equipped crystals are now applying correctly after logging in post-patch.
Central Market Reset
Reset all orders and listings on the Central Market for certain items during the July 30, 2026 maintenance. Refer to the July 26 Central Market Maintenance notice for the list of reset orders and listings.
The reset affects specific item categories related to progression items, primarily those connected to the new HYPERBOOST system and Edania Part 2 accessory economy. Pre-patch listings for affected items were cancelled; players who had active orders need to relist after the maintenance.
