Who qualified for the VCT Americas 2026 Stage 2 playoffs?
The VCT Americas 2026 Stage 2 playoffs feature eight teams: LOUD, Leviatán, NRG, and 100 Thieves, qualified directly from the group stage, as well as MIBR, FURIA, Evil Geniuses, and G2 Esports, secured via the play-ins. The teams compete for the regional title and spots for Champions Shanghai.
Directly qualified teams and play-in survivors
The final four spots were confirmed at the end of the Play-in stage last Sunday. The teams MIBR, FURIA, Evil Geniuses, and G2 Esports guaranteed their qualification after winning decisive matches.
Thus, the competition’s elite group is completely defined for the knockout stage. These four teams join LOUD, Leviatán, NRG, and 100 Thieves, who already held direct spots.
The group stage ensured early access for the first batch due to their consistent performance. The tournament’s technical balance promises fierce combat in every round of the main bracket.
Expectations surrounding LOUD, MIBR, and FURIA in the tournament
The significant presence of Brazilian organizations raises the expectations of the local fanbase. LOUD arrives strong after a very consistent campaign during the championship’s initial stage.
On the other hand, MIBR and FURIA demonstrated great resilience by overcoming difficult moments. The qualification earned in the play-ins provided a high competitive rhythm for both national lineups.
Furthermore, international rivalries promise to heat up the elimination matches of the continental tournament. Teams like Evil Geniuses and Leviatán have shown relevant tactical evolution in recent weeks.
The VCT Americas playoffs bracket and seed advantage
NRG and 100 Thieves guaranteed in the Upper Bracket semifinals
Analyzing the VCT Americas playoffs bracket, the advantage earned by the top two finishers stands out. The teams NRG and 100 Thieves secured a privileged position in the upper bracket.
Both organizations debut directly in the tournament’s Upper Bracket semifinals. This higher seed ensures more rest and a shorter path to the grand final.
Meanwhile, the other six participants begin their journey in the first round of the Upper Bracket. Facing an additional round requires greater physical endurance and tactical preparation from the rosters.
Bo3 and Bo5 series in the double-elimination system
The knockout structure adopts the circuit’s established double-elimination format. In this system, each team must suffer two defeats to be definitively eliminated.
The tournament’s initial matches will be played in best-of-three maps (Bo3) series. However, the decisive clashes of the final phase will feature an expanded format in best-of-five maps (Bo5) series.
This lower bracket dynamic offers a second chance for those who stumble early on. The possibility of historic comebacks keeps the audience engaged until the final minutes of the event.
