R6 Year 11 promises to be the most ambitious period in the history of Ubisoft’s tactical game. During the closing panel of the Six Invitational 2026 in Paris, the developer revealed detailed plans for Operation Silent Hunt.
Scheduled for release on March 3rd, this new phase marks a drastic change in direction. The focus is now on prioritizing competitive integrity and bringing high-profile collaborations to the server. The major highlight is the arrival of Solid Snake, the legendary protagonist of Metal Gear Solid.
He will not be just a cosmetic skin, but a playable operator with brand-new mechanics. His entry into the game introduces espionage and resource-gathering tools that promise to completely alter the pace of current matches.
Solid Snake: The New Master of Espionage
The arrival of Solid Snake transcends visual content and challenges the game’s utility economy. Classified as a 3-Speed, 1-Health attacker, he sacrifices physical resistance in exchange for extreme mobility across the map.
His primary gadget is the Soliton Radar MK3, a handheld passive intelligence tool. Unlike traditional drones, this radar allows the player to detect threats and active cameras in real-time while moving.
Additionally, the radar displays enemy vision cones directly on the HUD through a “Precision Mode.” However, the most disruptive mechanic of the new operator is his passive ability, called O.S.P. (On-Site Procurement).
In this mechanic, Snake starts each round with only one secondary gadget. To compensate for this disadvantage, he can “loot” the bodies of eliminated operators. By interacting with utility pouches on the map, he replenishes his inventory with frag grenades, flashbangs, or breaching charges.
Systemic Changes and Ranked 3.0 in R6 Year 11

Map Modernization and the New Legend Division
The infrastructure of the maps has also undergone significant physical modernization. Classic scenarios like Oregon, Villa, and Coastline received the addition of “Destructible Ingredients.” Now, maps feature explosive gas pipes and functional fire extinguishers.
If these elements are hit during a firefight, they can block lines of sight with smoke or deny entire areas with fire. As a result, players will be forced to adapt their attack and defense routes dynamically and unpredictably.
For high-level players, the big news is the Legend Division, planned for the third season. This will be an exclusive mode for solo-queue. In it, only individual skill will determine success, free from pre-made groups that could unbalance the match.
