Activision has published a full guide to Hajin, the map for DMZ in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The reveal covers the Exclusion Zone’s main locations, enemies, vehicles and threat system.
With the MW4 Hajin map revealed in detail, players can already start planning their first deployments. Moreover, the guide confirms that the map blends former North Korean and South Korean territory.
In short, the MW4 Hajin map revealed by Activision is an open Exclusion Zone with 13 major points of interest and more than 60 named locations. It launches alongside the game on October 23.
MW4 Hajin Map Revealed: What Is Hajin?

Hajin is an Exclusion Zone on the border between the two Koreas, devastated by the war shown in the campaign. In DMZ, players drop into the map to loot, complete objectives and fight both enemies and rival squads before extracting.
A New COD Map Split Between Two Koreas
The new COD map includes areas that once belonged to each side of the conflict. Architecture helps you get your bearings: North Korean buildings look older, while South Korean structures have a more modern style.
The main types of environment are:
- Rural areas: farms, villages and forests, with fewer enemies.
- Military sites: a prison, an air base and fortified compounds.
- Hajin City: an urban center with skyscrapers, a mall and a stadium.
- Hazard zones: such as a nuclear reactor surrounded by radiation.
A New DMZ Map With More Than 60 Locations
The new DMZ map features more than 60 named locations, both large and small. Beyond the main areas, gas stations, police stations, clinics, fire stations and comms towers are spread across the map.
New Map Features: The Main Locations

Among the new map features, the 13 major points of interest stand out the most. Each one has an expected threat level, ranging from low to extreme.
Full List of Major Points of Interest
| Location | Area | Expected threat |
| 14th Political Prison | Northwest (North Korea) | High to critical |
| Chang-san Air Base | West (North Korea) | Critical to extreme |
| Deadtown | Southwest (North Korea) | Low to medium |
| Imjin Farmland | South-southwest (South Korea) | Low to medium |
| Cheongun Village | North (South Korea) | Low to high |
| Mirae General Hospital | North central (South Korea) | Low |
| Cheonwang Peak Array | Central (South Korea) | Medium |
| Haneul Nuclear Reactor | Northeast (South Korea) | High, with radiation |
| NuriGO Mall | Hajin City | Medium to high |
| The Grid | Central Hajin City | Critical to extreme |
| Songdo Wharf | Eastern Hajin City | Low |
| Wolves Stadium | Southern Hajin City | Medium |
| Hajin River Heights | Southeast | Medium |
The Most Dangerous Locations
The Grid and Chang-san Air Base are the riskiest areas on the map. The Grid is a fortified district in the heart of Hajin City, while the air base hides an underground tunnel complex larger than the base itself.
Meanwhile, the nuclear reactor requires protective gear and a gas mask because of the radiation covering the area.
Biggest New Features: Enemies, Threat and Vehicles
Beyond the locations, the reveal brought the biggest new features in how the map reacts to players. Hajin is controlled by a secretive North Korean faction, with enemies of different tiers.
Enemies and Bosses
Opponents range from regular soldiers to autonomous machines. The highlights are:
- Four tiers of soldiers: from basic grunts to faceless armored troops.
- Drones and robot dogs: drone swarms and quadruped units, usually underground.
- Lieutenants: bosses with their own territory and valuable rewards.
- Commanders: roaming bosses such as the Colossus, the Deathstalker and a main battle tank.
Threat System and Vehicles
Every location has a threat level that rises as you make noise. As a result, stealthy approaches help avoid enemy reinforcements, and killing too many enemies can send a Hunt Squad after you.
To get around, the map offers vehicles on land, water and air. Unlike in Warzone, however, they have limited fuel and armor and need repairs at gas stations.
