The Worlds 2026 Play-In Stage kicks off on October 15 in Los Angeles, with four teams competing for a single spot in the Swiss Stage of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship. Among them is FURIA, the Brazilian representative set to face MVK Esports in its opening match.
The competition will take place at the Riot Games Arena from October 15 to 18. Every match will be a best-of-five (Bo5) series, played in a double-elimination bracket. Only one team will advance to the next stage of Worlds.
At the Worlds 2026 Play-In Stage, FURIA will make its debut on October 15 at 8 p.m. Brasília time. The day’s opening series, featuring Cloud9 and Karmine Corp, begins at 3 p.m.
LOS, the reigning CBLOL champion, has already secured a direct spot in the Swiss Stage. If FURIA makes it through the Play-In, Brazil will have two teams competing in the next stage of the tournament.
Participating Teams and Opening Matchups
Four teams from different competitive leagues will battle for the final Swiss Stage berth. The participating organizations are:
- FURIA: CBLOL, Brazil.
- Karmine Corp: LEC, Europe.
- Cloud9: LCS, North America.
- MVK Esports: LCP, Asia-Pacific.
The opening draw placed Cloud9 against Karmine Corp and FURIA against MVK Esports on October 15. Riot Games did not impose regional restrictions on the matchups for this stage.
Both series will be played in Los Angeles, with different start times. Cloud9 opens the schedule at 3 p.m., while FURIA takes the stage at 8 p.m., both in Brasília time.
How the Worlds 2026 Play-In Stage Format Works
The Play-In features four teams competing in a double-elimination bracket. Every match is a Bo5 series, meaning a team must win three games to take the series.
In the opening round, the winners advance to the upper bracket final, while the losing teams move to the lower bracket semifinal. Once a team reaches the lower bracket, another loss means elimination.
The winner of the upper bracket final advances to the grand final on October 18. However, the losing team still has another opportunity to qualify. It will face the lower bracket survivor in the lower bracket final on October 17.
The grand final brings together the upper bracket winner and the lower bracket winner. Only the team that wins this final Bo5 secures a spot in the Swiss Stage. Reaching the upper bracket final alone does not guarantee qualification.
FURIA’s Road to the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage
FURIA qualified for Worlds after finishing as the CBLOL runner-up. In the domestic grand final on October 10, the team lost 3-2 to LOS, which claimed the championship and a direct Swiss Stage berth.
Now, FURIA’s first challenge is MVK Esports, representing the LCP. A Bo5 victory is required to remain in the upper bracket and move one step closer to the grand final.
If FURIA defeats MVK, it will face the winner of Cloud9 vs. Karmine Corp in the upper bracket final on October 16. Another victory would send the Brazilian organization to the October 18 grand final, where the Swiss Stage spot will be decided.
If FURIA loses its opening series, it will drop to the lower bracket and must win every remaining matchup to stay alive. From that point forward, another defeat would end its run at the Worlds 2026 Play-In Stage.

Brazilian fans can follow the official Portuguese-language broadcast on the CBLOL Twitch channel, which Riot Games lists among the tournament’s broadcast channels. The LoL Esports platform also provides the official match schedule.
CBLOL also maintains an official YouTube channel. However, the availability of Worlds 2026 broadcasts on that platform still needs to be confirmed through the official streaming schedule.
