AION 2's Early Access details are now fully confirmed. On July 17, 2026, NC published an official Team Update notice titled "Early Access: How It Will Work" directly to the AION 2 notice board, answering the questions left open after the July 8 Business Model notice. The update covers five specific areas: the two server waves, dungeon party matching, Abyss PvP, the two Markets, and server transfers.

If you are deciding whether a Founder's Pack is worth buying, or you already have one and want to know exactly what the first five days look like, this guide breaks down every confirmed detail.

Prices and Start Date

NC's "New Product Info" notice confirms advance access begins September 30, 2026 and runs for 5 days, with Founder's Packs on sale from July 22 at $24.99 / $49.99 / $99.99.

The global free-to-play launch follows those 5 days in early October 2026. All three Founder's Pack tiers grant the same Early Access benefit: the difference between them is cosmetic content only.

Two Server Waves: Early Access Servers and Launch Servers

When Early Access starts, NC will open an initial wave of world servers called Early Access Servers. Only players who purchased any tier of Founder's Pack can access them initially. At official launch, a second wave of Launch Servers opens, and all players will be able to choose their preferred server. Players who did not purchase Early Access will also be able to join Early Access Servers "if those servers remain open and available at launch."

Both server types will exist simultaneously after launch. Founder's Pack holders begin on Early Access Servers on September 30. Everyone else starts on Launch Servers at the global launch, but can potentially join Early Access Servers if capacity allows.

Elyos and Asmodian servers remain separate, as NC confirmed previously. The two factions only meet in the Abyss for PvP.

Dungeon Party Matching

Dungeon party matching is region-wide from the start: during Early Access, players match for parties across all Early Access Servers in a given geographical region, so finding a group is never limited to a single server. At launch, the matching pool expands to include both Early Access and Launch Servers in the same region.

In practice, friends who end up on different servers within the same region can still group together for dungeons from day one. This avoids the classic MMORPG problem where splitting a group across servers completely isolates their progression.

Abyss PvP During and After Early Access

During Early Access, Abyss matchmaking occurs between Early Access Servers only. After launch, NC will match servers "based on how far along and how strong each server is," so players face servers at a similar stage in the game, creating progression-based server matchmaking rather than a permanent EA/launch split.

Two important implications:

During the 5-day Early Access window, Abyss PvP is exclusively between players who also purchased a Founder's Pack. Launch Server players are not part of the Abyss pool during this period.

After launch, NC does not simply mix everyone together. Abyss matchmaking will account for how advanced each server is, preventing a freshly created Launch Server from immediately competing against servers with 5 days of gear progression ahead of them.

Two Markets: Server Market and Cross-Server Market

The July 17 notice formalizes a split NC had not previously detailed: AION 2 has a Server Market and a Cross-Server Market, and they do not open at the same time.

Server Market

The Server Market is your world's local trading hub: buy and sell with other players on your server using Kina. It is available from the very start of Early Access and remains available after launch.

Cross-Server Market

The Cross-Server Market connects players across all servers within your region for Kina trading with a much larger pool of buyers and sellers, but it will not be available at the start of Early Access or at launch. NC will open it after release, once participating servers have reached a similar stage in the game, with more details promised before it opens.

The bottom line: you can trade from day one in your server's local Market. The region-wide Cross-Server Market comes later, once server progression levels have balanced out enough to make cross-server trading fair.

Note: the July 8 Business Model notice stated that Market and Exchange access requires the $15/month Membership. That requirement was not restated in the July 17 notice, which covers server scope rather than access rules. Both conditions apply simultaneously.

Server Transfers

NC says it is "committed to enabling the AION 2 Server Transfer Service." Following Early Access and launch, the team will evaluate server occupancy levels with the goals of alleviating congestion, with details promised in a dedicated announcement "in the near future." In the meantime, friends who start on different servers can still party up for dungeons via the region-wide matching pool and add each other as friends.

No date or specific rules for transfers have been announced. What is confirmed is that NC acknowledges the need and is working on it.

What Is AION 2?

For players new to the franchise: AION 2 is the sequel to the 2008 MMORPG, developed by NC on Unreal Engine 5, set in a world 36 times larger than the original. The global PC version launches on Steam and the NC PURPLE platform simultaneously across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, in 10 languages including English, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

The defining mechanic is aerial combat. Flight is not a travel system in AION 2: it is an active combat layer. Every dungeon, open-world encounter, and Abyss PvP battle is designed with verticality as its axis.

At launch the game includes:

  • 8 playable classes
  • Over 200 dungeons across solo, 4-player, and 8-player formats
  • Open-world faction PvP in the Abyss between Elyos and Asmodian factions
  • 200+ character customization options
  • Dedicated servers for South America, North America, Europe, and Japan

Play AION 2 with a Stable Connection Using ExitLag

AION 2 has dedicated servers in South America, North America, Europe, and Japan. The server is close. The route your ISP takes to reach it is not always.

In an MMORPG where Abyss PvP matchmaking is region-wide and real-time, and where the first 5 days of Early Access are the most competitive window of the entire launch, connection instability has a direct impact on every fight. Packet loss during an Abyss battle means actions that do not register. Ping spikes during dungeon boss fights mean skill chains that fire late or not at all.

ExitLag is a connection optimizer used by over 30 million players across 4,000+ game titles. It is not a VPN. It analyzes multiple network routes in real time and selects the fastest, most stable path between your device and the game's servers, replacing your ISP's default routing with one optimized specifically for gaming latency.

Features that directly benefit AION 2 players:

  • Real-Time Optimization: Continuously selects the lowest-latency route to AION 2's servers. When congestion builds on your ISP's default path during peak hours, ExitLag reroutes automatically without interrupting your session.
  • Multipath Technology: Sends game data through multiple simultaneous paths. If one path drops a packet during an Abyss clash, the others carry the data without the server seeing the loss.
  • Traffic Shaper: Prioritizes AION 2 traffic above every other application on your PC, so nothing spikes your ping during active combat.
  • Multi-Internet: Supports up to four simultaneous connections. If your primary connection drops during an Early Access session, a backup takes over instantly without disconnecting you from the server.

Download ExitLag and start AION 2 Early Access with optimized routing.

Pro Tips: AION 2 Early Access

  • Choose your faction and server based on where your friends will be, not just population size: Region-wide dungeon matching means you can group across servers regardless of which one you pick. But Abyss PvP during Early Access is locked to EA Servers only, so make sure your PvP group is on the same server type from day one.
  • Use the Server Market actively from Day 1 before the Cross-Server Market opens: The local Server Market is your only trading venue during Early Access and at launch. Players who establish early economy positions before the Cross-Server Market opens will have a meaningful head start when the larger regional trading pool activates.
  • Sign up for the AION 2 newsletter at aion2.plaync.com for free cosmetics: Newsletter subscribers receive the Pagati companion pet plus one selectable pet at launch, at no cost.
  • Set up ExitLag before September 30: The first five days of Early Access are the highest-stakes window of the entire launch. A stable, optimized connection from the moment the servers open means no routing instability undermines your Early Access advantage.

Common Mistakes Before AION 2 Early Access

  1. Assuming all three Founder's Pack tiers offer different Early Access durations: All three packs grant the same 5-day Early Access window starting September 30. The difference between the $24.99, $49.99, and $99.99 tiers is purely cosmetic content. Fix: buy the tier whose cosmetics you actually want, not the most expensive one under the assumption it gives more time.
  2. Planning to use the Cross-Server Market on day one: The Cross-Server Market is not available at Early Access or at the global launch. Only the Server Market (local to your server) is active from day one. Fix: plan your early economy strategy around your server's local pool, not region-wide trading.
  3. Waiting to install until September 30: The AION 2 full installation is 100 GB and strongly recommends SSD storage. At typical home internet speeds, that download takes several hours. Fix: install as soon as pre-loading becomes available, well before the September 30 Early Access open, so you are ready to log in the moment servers go live.
