Introduced in the 1.19 Minecraft Allay update, it has quickly become one of Minecraft’s most charming and helpful mobs. A flying, blue creature with a sweet disposition, the Allay Minecraft can assist players with a variety of tasks, making them valuable companions on any adventure

The first step to getting an Allay Minecraft is, of course, finding one! You may ask “so, how to find allay in Minecraft?”. It always spawn in two distinct locations: lush caves and ancient city structures. Lush caves, which were introduced in the Caves & Cliffs update, are a beautiful biome full of vibrant greenery, glowing plants, and flowing water.

You can spot an Allay fluttering around in these caves, where they often appear near structures known as “pillager outposts.” Additionally, Allay Minecraft can sometimes be found trapped in cages in the ancient cities, a vast underground area full of mystery and danger. When searching for one, keep your eyes peeled for their signature blue hue and wings that gently flutter as they fly.

Taming an Allay

To tame one, all you need is an item to offer it. The Allay is very responsive to items, and when you drop an item in front of it, it will fly over to it and pick it up. Once the Allay picks up the item, it’s tamed, and from that point on, it will follow you around like a loyal companion. The Allay is a friendly mob, and it won’t attack you, so there’s no risk of it becoming hostile after taming.

After picking up the item, the Allay will fly behind you, occasionally hovering in place until it finds the next task to do. The item that you offer to the Allay is also the one it will continue to hold. This unique behavior adds an interesting dynamic to how players can interact with the mob, as you can always control the item it holds, and this control can be expanded for more specific tasks.

How Allays Can Help You

The Allay Minecraft is more than just a companion; it’s a helpful tool that can make your Minecraft experience more efficient and enjoyable. Here are some of the main ways an Allay can assist you:

  1.  Item Retrieval: If you’ve dropped a bunch of resources or scattered items while mining or fighting, the Allay can help by picking them up and delivering them back to you. This is especially useful if you find yourself overwhelmed with items or are too busy with other tasks to gather up everything. To get the Allay to do this, simply throw an item on the ground, and the Allay will rush to pick it up and return it to you.
  2.  Note Block Music: When an Allay comes into contact with a note block, it will play music, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to your base or any area you’re building. The sound can help create an atmosphere or act as a signal for specific activities.
  3.  Trading with Villagers: When near a villager, an Allay can assist with trading by carrying items to the villager. If you’re in a trading area and don’t want to manually move items to the villager, you can have your Allay help you out. This makes trading more convenient, especially in large villages or when you have many villagers offering different trades.
