Black Desert Agent Class: 🔫 The Silent Reaper That Never Misses — Complete Guide ⚡

7 min

The Agent is live in Black Desert. Revealed at the Heidel Ball 2026 in Los Angeles and available globally on PC since July 30, 2026, Agent is Black Desert’s 32nd class and one of the most conceptually distinct additions Pearl Abyss has delivered in years. A precision marksman built around controlled area dominance, heavy single shots, and a unique secondary weapon called the Hexround, the Agent redefines what a gun class in Black Desert looks and feels like.

Agent is a special operative from another world who carries out missions using custom-made Revolvers and the Hexround. Forged through rigorous training, Agent never misses an opening, relentlessly driving enemies to their deaths. In the fleeting moment an enemy lets down their guard, Agent slips into their blind spot, eliminates them, and swiftly leaves the scene in silence. No enemy can escape Agent, who completes every mission without fail.

Who Is the Agent?

The Agent is Edward “Eddie” Henry Canary. Long-time players will recognize the surname: he is the brother of the existing revolver class, Deadeye.

He has been described as looking like a cross between Percy from Critical Role and Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil: a precision marksman who can take out multiple enemies in a hurry, and the estranged brother of the Deadeye class.

The sibling relationship with Deadeye (Olivia Canary) is built into the lore and the kit. Both classes use revolvers and share signature skills that echo each other, but they were designed with opposing combat philosophies. Deadeye’s main purpose is to run-and-gun and keep mid-range pressure constant using quick attacks to suppress enemies. Agent’s focus is on strategy and assassination: one hit, one kill, if you can.

Agent launches with both Succession and Awakening paths, with no Ascension variant, which reportedly drew one of the louder reactions from the live audience at the Heidel Ball.

The Agent’s Awakening is scheduled for winter 2026. Succession is the launch version available now.

Weapons: Revolver and Hexround

The Agent’s combat kit is built around three distinct tools.

Revolver (Primary Weapon)

The Revolver is not designed to be a run-and-gun like Deadeye’s. His gun is meant to fire slower and hit harder. The ammo, exaggerated to give Agent more area of effect, is also meant to replace the use of magic as a character.

A hybrid character, not focused on firing quickly, but rather delivering a heavy blow with each shot, like anyone who loves the Desert Eagle in an FPS.

The Revolver is larger caliber than Deadeye’s. Every bullet carries more individual impact, and the rounds are designed with an exaggerated AoE profile. Where most Black Desert classes lean on magical abilities for area damage, Agent’s ammunition itself handles that role.

Hexround (Secondary Weapon)

The Hexround is a partner on the battlefield that provides support in combat. The strength of this secondary weapon is that it allows players to string together skills from both weapons.

Having awakened the power of the Hexround made using technology from both worlds, Agent never wastes a single shot. The Hexround responds to his actions, providing offensive support and calculating the most efficient move at every moment. By warping space-time with the Hexround, he can strike from behind and reap an enemy’s soul before they even notice.

The Hexround is the mechanical signature that sets Agent apart from every other Black Desert class. It is not a passive companion: it is an active weapon that extends Agent’s area control across the battlefield while enabling Revolver-Hexround skill chains.

Grenades

The class also features grenades as its third tool, adding explosive area damage to the kit of precision shooting and Hexround control.

All Confirmed Skills

Blink: Activates the Hexround imbued with ancient magic to leap through space-time. This unique maneuver is ideal for infiltrating and escaping a mission area.

Hexround Engage: Sets the Hexround to track and suppress a targeted enemy.

Reaper’s Mercy: A final hit to a downed enemy.

Bulletstorm / Gannicus’s Hexround: A reinterpretation of Deadeye’s skill to connect the two classes. Both Edward Canary and his sister Olivia share skills that echo each other, both firing off multiple rounds in a large AoE bulletstorm.

Mozambique Drill: A technique inspired by modern combat, a direct reference to the police shooting technique of two rounds to the torso and one to the head.

Demolition Operation: Massive area damage skill.

Final Mercy: Execution strike against grounded enemies.

Succession vs Awakening

Succession (available now): The launch version of the Agent. Uses the Revolver and Hexround as the primary combat tools with the full kit described above.

Awakening (winter 2026): Pearl Abyss has not released full details on Agent’s Awakening kit. Based on patterns from other Black Desert classes, the Awakening will introduce a new weapon or transformed version of the Hexround with a different combat identity. Agent has no Ascension variant at all, a deliberate design choice.

One Class Per Year: The New Cadence

Pearl Abyss confirmed a structural shift in class cadence: one new class per year going forward, with Succession variants arriving in summer and Awakening in winter, explicitly to allow more balance tuning time between releases.

This means Agent is the only new class of 2026. The next new class will not arrive until summer 2027.

How to Try Agent Before Committing

The Agent went up for testing on the Black Desert Global Lab, the game’s public test server, immediately after the Heidel Ball, so hands-on impressions are already circulating ahead of the live launch.

The Global Lab sets characters at Level 63 automatically, letting you test Agent’s full kit without needing to level from scratch.

Play Agent in Black Desert with ExitLag

Agent’s combat philosophy, one shot, one kill, only works when each shot registers on Pearl Abyss’s servers at the exact moment you fire. Blink’s space-time teleport, Reaper’s Mercy’s execution window on downed enemies, and the Revolver-Hexround skill chain all depend on your inputs reaching the server within the correct timing windows.

ExitLag is a connection optimizer used by over 30 million players across 4,000+ game titles including Black Desert Online. It analyzes multiple network routes in real time and selects the fastest, most stable path between your device and Pearl Abyss’s servers.

  • Real-Time Optimization: Keeps Blink and Hexround timing consistent even during peak server hours
  • Multipath Technology: Eliminates packet loss that causes skills to visually fire but fail to register
  • Traffic Shaper: Prioritizes Black Desert traffic above background applications so nothing spikes your ping during a Hexround combo

Pro Tips: Playing the Agent

  • Master Blink’s post-teleport delay before PvP: Blink has a balancing delay in the moment immediately after teleporting. Entering PvP without knowing this delay leads to vulnerable windows where your follow-up skill does not fire in time.
  • Use Hexround Engage before repositioning: Activating tracking before using Blink creates continuous pressure while you move, rather than leaving the Hexround idle during the transition.
  • Practice Reaper’s Mercy timing on monsters first: The execution window on downed enemies is predictable in PvE and unpredictable in PvP. Build the muscle memory in PvE before expecting to hit it consistently against players.

Common Mistakes With the Agent

  1. Playing Agent at Deadeye’s speed: Agent is designed to be slower and heavier. Forcing Deadeye pace with the Revolver sacrifices the impact that is the point of the character. Fix: respect the more deliberate rhythm before trying to optimize speed.
  2. Treating the Hexround as a passive tool: The Hexround is an active weapon with chain skill capability. Not mastering the Revolver-Hexround linkage means playing Agent at half capacity.
  3. Ignoring Blink’s delay in PvP: The post-Blink window is when Agent is most vulnerable. Misusing it in combat against players who know this creates openings rather than advantages.
