Black Desert’s newest class is here, and it is unlike any gun class the game has had before. The Agent, revealed at the Heidel Ball 2026 in Los Angeles and live on global PC servers since July 30, 2026, does not run and shoot. He stops, marks, and eliminates. One shot. One kill. And when he moves, it is through space-time itself.
Agent’s first secret mission has begun in Black Desert. He is confirmed for deployment on July 30, 2026.
The Concept: Why Agent Is Different
Every gun class in Black Desert before Agent traded on speed and aggression. The Deadeye, the class Agent is directly related to, is a run-and-gun specialist designed for constant mid-range pressure. Muskets, cannons, pistols: Black Desert’s ranged and gunpowder classes have all leaned on volume, speed, or range.
Pearl Abyss described Agent’s design intent as controlled area dominance rather than Deadeye’s run-and-gun aggression.
A hybrid character, not focused on firing quickly, but rather delivering a heavy blow with each shot, like anyone who loves the Desert Eagle in an FPS.
Agent is the first gun class in Black Desert built explicitly around the weight and consequence of each individual shot rather than the volume of fire over time. That single design decision changes everything about how the class is played, positioned, and learned.
The Lore: Brother and Sister of the Canary Family
The Agent is Edward “Eddie” Henry Canary. Long-time players will recognize the surname: he is the brother of the existing revolver class, Deadeye.
There is some real shared DNA between Edward Canary and his sister Olivia. Their signature skills echo each other, both firing off multiple rounds in a large AoE bulletstorm.
The Canary siblings share weapons, shared aesthetic, and one signature skill that echoes across both kits. But their personalities and tactical identities diverge completely. Olivia runs toward the enemy with sustained fire. Eddie waits, repositions with Blink, and delivers the kind of precision strike that ends the engagement before it escalates.
The Hexround: Agent’s Defining Mechanic
The Hexround is the mechanical element that makes Agent genuinely new in Black Desert’s class roster.
His signature mechanic: the Hexround. It is a unique firing mechanism or secondary weapon system that substitutes area damage for the magic-based toolkit most classes lean on.
Having awakened the power of the Hexround made using technology from both worlds, Agent never wastes a single shot. The Hexround responds to his actions, providing offensive support and calculating the most efficient move at every moment. By warping space-time with the Hexround, he can strike from behind and reap an enemy’s soul before they even notice.
The strength of this secondary weapon is that it allows players to string together skills from both weapons.
The Hexround serves three functions simultaneously: it is an independent weapon with its own offensive capability, a tracking system that maintains pressure on a marked target while Agent repositions, and a combo enabler that lets players chain Revolver skills and Hexround skills into sequences neither weapon could create alone.

Why Agent Replaces Magic With Ammunition
Most Black Desert classes use magic as their primary damage source outside of physical weapon strikes. Sorcerers throw elemental spells. Witches call lightning. Even martial classes frequently have magical components to their skill chains.
The ammo is exaggerated to give Agent more of an area of effect style, and is also meant to replace the use of magic as a character. Instead, the Hexround can dominate an area, dealing large swathes of damage in a single, powerful hit.
This is a philosophical choice from Pearl Abyss: Agent is a “realistic” class in a fantasy world, and his power comes from tactical precision and advanced technology rather than mystical energy. The Hexround’s space-time warping is the one concession to the fantasy setting, and even that is framed as technology from another world rather than innate magical ability.
The Heidel Ball 2026 Context
Agent was the centerpiece announcement of the Heidel Ball 2026, Pearl Abyss’s annual community showcase event held this year in Los Angeles.
Black Desert Heidel Ball 2026 unveiled Agent, a stylish new marksman class using Revolvers and Hexround tech. Black Desert heads deeper into Edania Part 2, bringing new areas, story progression, and fresh gear paths. Major Black Desert updates include Character Swap, unified PvP rankings, level cap changes, and PvE improvements.
The event also confirmed the new class cadence: one new class per year going forward, with Succession variants arriving in summer and Awakening in winter, explicitly to allow more balance tuning time between releases.
Agent is the only new class of 2026. His Awakening arrives in winter. The next class after Agent will not come until summer 2027.
What Makes Agent the Right Class to Try Now
Three reasons to start Agent as your next Black Desert class:
1. He is genuinely new mechanically: The Hexround chain system has no equivalent in any existing Black Desert class. Learning it from day one puts you ahead of the curve as community understanding of the optimal Revolver-Hexround combos develops.
2. New monster zones opened on launch day: Edania Part 2’s Sulfur Golem Zone went live alongside Agent on July 30. Learning a new class in new content means you are not competing with established players who already know every meta spot.
3. No Ascension variant means a clean progression path: Agent releases on Korean servers on July 29th, globally on PC on July 30th, and he has no Ascension variant. Succession now, Awakening in winter. Two paths, no complexity from an Ascension split.
Play Agent with ExitLag for Precise, Low-Latency Combat
Agent’s “one shot, one kill” design works only when each shot actually lands on the server. The Blink’s post-teleport window, Reaper’s Mercy’s downed-enemy execution timing, and the Hexround’s tracking confirmation all require your inputs to reach Pearl Abyss’s servers within tight windows.
ExitLag is a connection optimizer used by over 30 million players across 4,000+ game titles including Black Desert Online. It analyzes multiple network routes in real time and selects the fastest, most stable path between your device and Pearl Abyss’s servers, ensuring your Agent’s precision is not limited by routing inefficiency.
- Real-Time Optimization: Consistent low latency across all Agent skill windows
- Multipath Technology: Packet loss that would cause a missed execution is eliminated by alternative data paths
- Traffic Shaper: Prioritizes Black Desert traffic so no background process interrupts a Hexround combo

Pro Tips: Approaching the Agent as a New Class
- Watch the Global Lab footage before your first session: Community players had Agent from July 26. High-quality gameplay footage of optimal Revolver-Hexround chains is already available on YouTube and Twitch. Watching 15 minutes of optimized Agent play internalizes the rhythm before you touch the controls.
- Learn the Blink range and delay in a safe zone first: Blink is Agent’s primary mobility and escape tool, but it has a post-teleport delay that creates vulnerability. Discovering that delay during a PvP encounter is more costly than discovering it while farming low-risk mobs.
- Start Edania Part 2 Sulfur Golem Zone early: New monster zones before the meta is established mean faster gear progress. Entering Sulfur Golem Zone on day one while most players are still learning the area’s mechanics gives you a material advantage before the zone becomes crowded.
