AION 2 Server Maintenance: October 13-14 Downtime and Transfers

NC has confirmed AION 2 server maintenance for Tuesday, October 13 (PDT), extending into Wednesday, October 14. Servers will go offline at 11:30 p.m. PDT (3:30 a.m. Brasília time) for an estimated three and a half hours.

Players currently online will be disconnected, and new logins will be unavailable during the downtime. If everything goes according to schedule, servers should be back online around 3 a.m. PDT on Wednesday (7 a.m. in Brasília).

The AION 2 server maintenance also marks the beginning of character transfers. During the first week, the service will be available exclusively for Early Access servers.

NC has not released the full patch notes yet. However, the company has already confirmed the server transfer rules and several temporary changes to in-game shops.

AION 2 Maintenance Schedule: Start Time and Expected End

The official announcement describes the downtime as scheduled server maintenance. NC also warns that both the maintenance schedule and update details are subject to change.

The initial estimate is three and a half hours of downtime. Here is the maintenance schedule across major time zones:

For players wondering when AION 2 servers will be back online, the current estimate is 3 a.m. PDT on October 14. However, this is a projected return time, not a guaranteed reopening.

If maintenance takes longer than expected, the servers may remain offline beyond the scheduled window. NC will post any changes through its official Steam announcement.

What Changes After AION 2 Server Maintenance?

At the time of publication, NC had not shared a complete list of technical fixes. This means there is no confirmation yet about which bugs will be addressed or whether balance adjustments are included.

The biggest confirmed change is the introduction of server transfers. This feature allows players to move their characters to another server, subject to region, faction, and server-type restrictions.

NC will also temporarily adjust how certain items can be obtained during the transfer period.

Soul Crystals and Instant Clear Tickets (Server) will no longer be sold by Wind Breeze Merchants – Special. Instead, players will be able to obtain the same quantities through Substance Morph.

Another change affects Odyle Energy. Its purchase limit, previously shared across a server, will become character-based for the duration of the transfer period.

AION 2 Server Transfers: Schedule, Availability, and Costs

Server transfers will roll out in two stages, each covering a different group of servers. The first window opens after the October 13-14 maintenance.

NC has confirmed the following schedule:

1. Early Access servers: From after the October 13 maintenance (PDT) until before the October 20 maintenance. In Brasília, these dates are October 14-21.
2. Launch servers: From after the October 20 maintenance (PDT) until before the October 27 maintenance. In Brasília, these dates are October 21-28.

For South America, transfer requests will be available daily from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Brasília time. These windows correspond to 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. PDT.

Players can access the service through the in-game Shop under the Server Transfer tab.

Are AION 2 Server Transfers Free?

NC has confirmed a base transfer cost of 0 Quna, with no additional fee for each character included in the transfer.

However, there is one important exception. If the destination server does not have enough available character slots, players must pay 1,000 Quna per additional slot.

This means transfers can be completely free for accounts with enough available slots. Additional charges only apply when character slot expansion is required.

Server capacity limits also apply to incoming and outgoing transfers. If either the source or destination server reaches its transfer limit, the request will become unavailable, even if the player meets every other requirement.

AION 2 Server Transfer Requirements and Restrictions

Each account can complete only one server transfer during the entire transfer period. There is no limit on how many characters can be included, but they must all move from one source server to one destination server.

Transfers are restricted to servers within the same region and faction.

Early Access characters can only move to other Early Access servers. They cannot be transferred to Launch servers through this service.

Requirements Before Requesting a Transfer

Before starting the process, players must meet the following conditions:

• Characters must be level 10 or higher and located in a town.
• Characters cannot belong to a Legion or have a pending Legion membership application.
• Characters cannot have active Duty Missions.
• Players cannot have items listed on the Market, unclaimed purchases, or uncollected sales proceeds.
• Players cannot have unclaimed items in Shop Storage or unclaimed mail.

Another important restriction concerns Server Storage. Items stored there will not move with transferred characters.

Players planning to change servers should move valuable items into their character’s inventory or Character Storage before submitting the request.

What Happens After a Server Transfer?

Once a transfer request has been completed, it cannot be canceled or reversed. Choosing the destination server carefully is therefore essential.

Transferred characters will also temporarily receive the name @TemporaryName. Players must choose a new character name when logging in for the first time after the transfer.

If the previous name is already taken on the destination server, the player will not be able to use it.

TAKEFLIGHTAION2 Coupon Expires Before Maintenance

Alongside the server transfers, players should pay attention to the expiration date of the TAKEFLIGHTAION2 promotional code.

According to NC, the coupon expires on Tuesday, October 13, at 11 p.m. PDT. That corresponds to 3 a.m. Brasília time on Wednesday, October 14, just 30 minutes before the scheduled maintenance begins.

The code rewards players with Odyle Energy, Resurrection Spiritstone, and Battle Enhance Scroll items. Each account can redeem it only once.

To redeem the code, open Settings, select Miscellaneous, then Account, and choose Enter Coupon.

When maintenance ends, many players may attempt to log in at the same time. However, server queues, availability, and capacity are entirely managed by NC.
