This triumph marks the M80 organization’s first-ever international title since joining the competitive scene in 2023. The standout player was Shaun “Gunnar” Pottorff, who earned the MVP award for the Grand Final. The journey of the M80 R6 Major champions to the top was nothing short of spectacular.
The flawless journey to international glory

The M80 R6 Major champions kicked off their campaign in the Swiss Stage. Their performance was nearly perfect right from the start. For example, they secured crucial wins against major teams. First, M80 defeated G2 Esports 7-5 on the Border map. Subsequently, they showcased their strength by beating FaZe Clan 7-2 on Lair.
Furthermore, the team cemented its spot in the upper bracket semifinal of the playoffs. This followed a 2-1 win over Team Secret. The map scores were 6-8 on Border, 7-2 on Lair, and a close 8-6 on Café Dostoyevsky. As a result, the M80 R6 Major champions advanced in first place.
However, the team faced a setback in the final stage. They were dropped to the lower bracket by FaZe Clan with a 2-0 loss (6-8 on Consulate and 7-4 on Lair). Therefore, M80 had to restart its journey in the lower bracket.

It was from this point that M80 regained control. They showed incredible focus. The following maps were fiercely contested. Finally, on Chalet and Consulate, the M80 R6 Major champions secured victory. The final map scores were 8-7 and 7-5, respectively. Consequently, the series concluded 3-1. The celebration was massive. M80 had conquered its first Major title.
This historic win brought more than just the trophy. Firstly, the M80 R6 Major champions guaranteed their qualification for the Six Invitational 2026. This major event will take place in February, in France. Furthermore, the team was awarded a prize of US$ 250,000. This amount is part of the total tournament prize pool of US$ 750,000.
With the Major now concluded, attention shifts to the regional finals. Teams will compete for the local title and, most importantly, for direct slots in the Six Invitational. Therefore, the excitement is set to continue.
