Talon Esports EWC 2025 wrapped up the Dota 2 Esports World Cup group stage with two draws and one loss. Representing Southeast Asia, the team finished fourth in Group A after drawing with Xtreme Gaming on Thursday (July 10). Now, they must battle through the elimination stage to stay alive in the race for the title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Talon returns to the stage this Saturday (July 12) for a decisive match against South American squad HEROIC. The best-of-three series kicks off at 9:30 AM (BRT), with the winner advancing to face Tundra Esports on Sunday (July 13) at the same time for a spot in the playoffs.

Despite not securing a win, Talon advanced thanks to two key draws. Their disciplined playstyle and strong defense helped them avoid costly losses in a tough group.
Elsewhere in Group A, tournament favorite Team Spirit claimed first place with a clean 2–0 victory over Natus Vincere.
Other Group Stage Highlights Beyond Talon Esports at EWC 2025
- Group B: BetBoom Team topped the group after defeating Execration. Meanwhile, Team Falcons, another title contender, ended in third place after a draw with Gaimin Gladiators.
- Group C: Aurora Gaming and Tundra Esports secured wins over Virtus.pro and Team Yandex and finished tied in the standings. Aurora won the tiebreaker series 2–1, earning a direct playoff spot.
- Group D: Team Liquid finished first after PARIVISION fell to Shopify Rebellion. Despite the loss, the Brazilian-coached PARIVISION bounced back with a 2–1 win over HEROIC in the tiebreaker and stayed alive in the tournament.
