The VALORANT 2026 Season was officially unveiled this Tuesday, January 6, by Riot Games. The update marks the beginning of a new competitive cycle for the tactical FPS, introducing new content alongside major systemic improvements.
Key highlights include a brand-new weapon, a limited-time game mode, map rotation updates, ranked system adjustments, and stronger measures to address player behavior. All changes are rolling out to players today.
VALORANT 2026 Season adds the new Bandit pistol

One of the main features of the VALORANT 2026 Season is the introduction of the Bandit pistol. The weapon sits between the Ghost and the Sheriff in the arsenal and offers strong stopping power.
Bandit can secure a one-shot headshot kill against lightly armored opponents and costs 600 credits during the buy phase. This positions it as a high-risk, high-reward option for eco rounds.
Riot stated that the new weapon is part of an ongoing effort to expand tactical choices. Additional balance tweaks to existing firearms are expected throughout the season.
New limited-time mode reshapes match flow
The VALORANT 2026 Season also introduces the All Random One Site mode. Designed for faster gameplay, the mode focuses on unpredictability and experimentation.
Players receive a random agent every round. Matches take place on condensed maps, with all combat centered on a single site. The mode blends Team Deathmatch pacing with standard ability usage and purchasing mechanics.
This format aims to provide a low-pressure environment where players can explore new agents and playstyles outside ranked play.
Breeze returns as Haven and Corrode receive updates
Map rotation changes are another key element of the VALORANT 2026 Season. After being absent since June 2024, Breeze returns with a full rework.
Changes impact both A and B sites as well as the mid area, focusing on tighter sightlines and improved balance between attackers and defenders.
Meanwhile, Haven and Corrode received targeted updates. Riot reduced excessive wall penetration spots to limit the dominance of weapons like Odin and Ares in certain positions.
Ranked improvements and stronger behavior policies in VALORANT 2026 season

Competitive play sees meaningful upgrades in the VALORANT 2026 Season. A new MMR calculation places greater emphasis on individual performance, aiming to produce fairer lobbies.
Riot also announced the Community Pact, a yearly agreement that players must accept to continue playing VALORANT. The initiative reinforces expectations around respectful behavior.
Anti-smurf measures and misconduct detection systems were improved as well. Riot confirmed faster and more accurate processing of reports.
With these changes, the VALORANT 2026 Season emphasizes competitive integrity, variety, and long-term community health.
