The VCT Americas 2026 season is taking shape with major structural changes to the VALORANT competitive calendar. Riot Games confirmed that São Paulo will host the playoffs of VCT Americas Stage 2, marking Brazil’s return as a key destination for international events.
The decision is part of a new operational strategy known as the “roadshow”, which moves playoff stages outside permanent studios. The goal is to increase regional engagement and transform decisive matches into large-scale live events.
Other leagues will also travel during the season. VCT EMEA will hold its playoffs in Madrid, Spain. VCT Pacific heads to Busan, South Korea. VCT China will conclude its stage in Chengdu.
VCT Americas 2026 pushes decentralization and live events

The VCT Americas 2026 roadmap signals a shift away from centralized production. In previous seasons, most playoff matches were held in fixed locations such as the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles.
By bringing events closer to local audiences, Riot aims to strengthen regional ecosystems. Brazil, in particular, stands out. São Paulo last hosted a major international VALORANT event during LOCK//IN 2023, which launched the franchised league system.
Audience metrics support the move. VCT Americas consistently delivers some of the highest global viewership numbers, with Brazil frequently leading peak concurrent viewers.
Team Capsules launch January 13 with loyalty discounts
Commercially, VCT Americas 2026 introduces notable updates. Team Capsules for the new season will be available in the in-game store starting January 13.
Each capsule includes:
- Updated Classic weapon skin with new visual effects
- Animated player card
- Exclusive gun buddy
- Team-themed spray
The standard price is 2,320 VP. However, Riot introduced a loyalty-based discount. Players who purchased the same team’s capsule in 2024 or 2025 will pay 1,650 VP for the 2026 version.
Riot confirmed that team capsules have already generated over US$100 million for partner organizations, making them a cornerstone of the league’s revenue-sharing model.
VCT Americas 2026 debuts triple-elimination format

The VCT Americas 2026 competitive season officially begins on January 15 with the VCT Americas Kickoff. The opening tournament introduces a Triple Elimination format.
Teams are only eliminated after three losses, reducing early-season randomness and giving rosters more room to adapt. The top four teams from Champions 2025 receive a bye into the second round.
The Kickoff will determine the region’s representatives for Masters Santiago, the first global event of the year, scheduled for February in Chile.
With these initiatives, VCT Americas 2026 reinforces Riot’s vision of combining live events, financial sustainability, and competitive integrity—placing Brazil back at the center of the global VALORANT stage.
