The AION 2 server transfer service opens after NC’s scheduled maintenance on October 13-14. Players will be able to move their characters to another server, with a base transfer cost of 0 Quna during both announced transfer windows.
The feature offers an opportunity for players who started on different servers from their friends or want to move to another world. However, restrictions apply to regions, factions, available character slots, and the number of transfers allowed.
Before using the AION 2 server transfer feature, players should understand these rules. Some items will not move with their characters, while certain shared collections and progression systems will no longer be available on the original server.
NC has also established specific application hours for each region. This guide covers the complete transfer schedule, potential costs, character requirements, and everything you should prepare before confirming your move.
How Do AION 2 Server Transfers Work?

The service allows players to move characters from their current server to another compatible server. Transfers are handled through the in-game Shop and are only available during the periods announced by NC.
Characters must be at least level 10 to qualify. Four main rules also apply:
- Same faction: Elyos characters can only transfer to Elyos servers, while Asmodians must remain on Asmodian servers.
- Same region: Cross-region transfers are not supported. For example, characters cannot move from South America to Europe.
- One transfer per account: Each account can submit only one transfer request throughout the announced period, from a single source server to a single destination.
- No fixed character limit per request: Multiple characters can be included, provided the destination server has enough available character slots.
Early Access and Launch servers also have separate transfer restrictions. Characters can only move between servers of the same type.
This means Early Access characters cannot transfer to Launch servers, even after the second transfer window opens.
AION 2 Server Transfer Schedule: Dates and Times

NC has divided the service into two phases, following its weekly maintenance schedule.
The first window opens after the October 13-14 maintenance and is available exclusively for Early Access servers. The second begins after the October 20-21 maintenance and covers Launch servers.
Here is the official server transfer schedule:
| Server Type | Transfer Window Opens | Transfer Window Closes |
| Early Access | After Oct. 13-14 maintenance | Before Oct. 20-21 maintenance |
| Launch | After Oct. 20-21 maintenance | Before Oct. 27-28 maintenance |
Maintenance begins on Tuesday evening in Pacific Time, with the corresponding dates falling on Wednesday in Brasília and Central Europe.
If your character is on a Launch server, you must wait for the second phase before requesting a transfer.
Server Transfer Application Hours by Region
Even during the official transfer windows, applications are only available during specific hours established by NC.
The table below shows the daily application periods in Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) for easier reference by US players.
| Server Region | First Daily Window (PDT) | Second Daily Window (PDT) |
| North America East and West | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. |
| South America | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. |
| Europe | 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. |
| Asia | 8 p.m. to midnight | 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. |
For Asia, the first daily window crosses midnight in Pacific Time. Players should pay attention to the date when planning their requests.
Outside these designated hours, the transfer service may appear unavailable in the Shop, even if all eligibility requirements are met.
How Much Does an AION 2 Server Transfer Cost?

The AION 2 server transfer cost is one of the biggest advantages of this initial rollout.
NC has confirmed that transfers will have a base cost of 0 Quna during both phases. There is also no additional fee for each character included in a transfer request.
However, expanding character slots on the destination server still costs Quna.
| Service | Cost | Conditions |
| Account transfer request | 0 Quna | One request per account |
| Character transfer | 0 Quna | Per character included |
| Additional character slot | 1,000 Quna | Per extra slot required |
When Will You Have to Pay?
Additional charges apply when the destination server does not have enough available character slots for all selected characters.
For example, suppose you want to transfer six characters but only have four available slots on the destination server. You would need to purchase two additional slots.
In that situation, the total cost would be 2,000 Quna.
Keep in mind that additional character slots purchased on your original server will not transfer with you. The available slots on the destination server determine how many characters you can move.
There is also a maximum character slot expansion limit. If your selected characters exceed that capacity, the transfer cannot proceed, even if you are willing to purchase more slots.
AION 2 Server Transfer Requirements and Restrictions
Before opening the Shop, make sure every character selected for transfer meets NC’s official requirements.
Each character must:
- Be level 10 or higher.
- Be located in a town, outside the Abyss, Spacetime Rifts, and dungeons.
- Not belong to a Legion or have a pending Legion application.
- Have no active Duty Missions.
Certain outstanding items and transactions may also prevent the transfer from proceeding.
Players must resolve Market listings and unclaimed proceeds, collect pending items from Shop Storage, and check the mailboxes of characters being transferred.
This includes any unclaimed content from purchased packages, such as the Founder’s Pack.
Server Capacity Can Also Block Transfers
Meeting all requirements does not guarantee approval.
NC has established outgoing transfer limits for source servers and incoming limits for destination servers. Once either limit is reached, the corresponding transfer route becomes unavailable.
These restrictions also apply if you already have characters on the destination server.
Preparing your account early may help if you plan to submit a request during the first few days. However, it does not guarantee that your preferred destination will have available capacity.
How to Transfer Servers in AION 2: Step-by-Step Guide
Once you have reviewed the requirements, the transfer can be requested directly through the game.
Before starting, organize your items and double-check your destination server. Completed server transfers cannot be canceled or reversed.
Follow these steps:
- Log into AION 2 during your region’s designated transfer hours.
- Open the in-game Shop and select the Server Transfer tab.
- Choose your destination server and select the characters you want to move.
- Review the available character slots and purchase additional slots if necessary.
- Check the transfer details carefully and confirm your request.
- Wait for the process to finish before attempting to log back into your account.
According to NC, the process takes at least one minute. Completion may take longer depending on the number of transfer requests being processed.
Once the transfer begins, you will return to the title screen. Your account will be temporarily unavailable for login while the transfer is being processed.
Players using the PURPLE platform will also receive a notification when the process is complete.
Which Items and Progress Carry Over?
Most character progression will carry over to the destination server. However, important differences exist between individual items, shared resources, and server-based systems.
According to NC, the main rules are:
- Inventory and Character Storage: All items stored in these locations transfer, including purchased Character Storage expansions.
- Kina: Currency stored in the character’s inventory or Character Storage moves with that character.
- Quna and Mileage: Amounts from the source server transfer in full and are added to any existing amounts on the destination server.
- Character progression: Collected Wings, Stigmas, Arcana, Pantheon data, Monolith, Empyrean Traces, Abyss points, and seasonal progression carry over.
- Membership: Your Membership transfers and is combined with any existing Membership on the destination server.
- Daeva Pass: Your purchased pass and its current progress transfer as they are, without automatically combining progression from different servers.
What Happens to Server Storage?
Items stored in Server Storage will not transfer to the destination server.
Before moving, take out anything you want to keep and place it in your character’s inventory or Character Storage.
Server Storage expansion records follow a different rule. The destination server will use whichever expanded storage capacity is higher between the source and destination servers.
This distinction matters. Your expanded storage capacity may be preserved, but the items inside Server Storage will not move with your characters.
Be Careful With Pets, Skins, and Shared Progress
This is one of the most important details for players who only plan to transfer some of their characters.
According to NC, Pets and Closet Skins move to the destination server and are removed from the source server.
In practice, characters remaining on the original server will lose access to those transferred Pets and Skins.
For that reason, players should consider whether transferring all their characters together makes more sense.
Some progression systems also follow specific rules:
- Titles: Character-based Titles transfer as they are. Server-based Titles are combined with those on the destination server and removed from the source.
- Achievements: Character-based Achievements carry over unchanged. For server-based Achievements, the higher progression value between the source and destination is applied.
- Genus Insight: Players can choose whether to apply their source server or destination server progression when both are available. Regardless of the choice, Genus Insight progress on the original server will be reset.
Pets and Genus Crystals also transfer and are combined with those already available on the destination server.
These conditions make server selection especially important for players with multiple characters sharing collections and progression.
Will Your Character Name Change?
Yes. Every transferred character temporarily receives the name @TemporaryName.
When logging in for the first time after the transfer, players must choose a new character name.
If the original name is already taken on the destination server, it cannot be selected again.
AION 2 Server Transfer Checklist: What to Do Before Moving
With only one transfer request allowed per account during the announced period, preparation is essential.
Before confirming your move, review this checklist:
- Organize your inventory: Remove valuable items from Server Storage.
- Clear outstanding requirements: Check the Market, Shop Storage, mail, Legion membership, and active Duty Missions.
- Review character slots: Make sure the destination has enough space and calculate any additional Quna costs.
- Consider remaining characters: Remember that Pets, Skins, and certain shared progression systems will no longer be available on the source server.
- Coordinate with friends: Agree on a destination before using your account’s only transfer request.
- Check the correct window: Early Access and Launch servers have different transfer periods.
Players should also monitor NC’s announcements for possible schedule changes or additional capacity restrictions.
How to Choose the Right Destination Server
Choosing where to move involves more than server population or finding your friends. The destination must be compatible with your character’s region, faction, and server type.
Connection quality can also affect your experience.
Even within the same region, internet routing to a particular server can vary. These differences may influence latency and connection stability during activities such as dungeons and Abyss battles.
ExitLag provides network route optimization that can help address connection issues related to internet routing. However, it does not change the server transfer rules or guarantee a specific ping.
Before confirming your move, consider checking our AION 2 high-ping guide. You can also try ExitLag to evaluate an optimized connection route.
AION 2 Server Transfers: Prepare Before You Move
The first transfer window opens after the October 13-14 maintenance, while Launch servers will gain access following the October 20-21 maintenance.
The base service is free during both phases, although additional character slots may require Quna. Each account can also submit only one transfer request during the announced period.
Before you change servers in AION 2, double-check your destination, move important items out of Server Storage, and review how the transfer affects shared collections and progression.
With the right preparation, the AION 2 server transfer service can offer a fresh start for players looking to reunite with friends or reorganize their characters, while avoiding unnecessary surprises along the way.
