Mirana, the Princess of the Moon, is one of Dota 2’s most versatile heroes. She can be played as a semi-carry in the safelane, a ganking midlaner, or a roaming position 4 support. Her Sacred Arrow provides one of the longest stuns in the game when it reaches max travel distance, and Moonlight Shadow gives her entire team invisibility for a temporary escape or initiation window.
Mirana’s Abilities
Starstorm: Calls down a rain of meteors in an area around Mirana, dealing damage to nearby enemies. A secondary meteor hits the closest enemy hero for double damage.
Sacred Arrow: Fires an arrow in a straight line that stuns the first enemy it hits. Stun duration and damage scale with travel distance. At max distance, the stun lasts 5 seconds.
Leap: Mirana leaps forward with Sagan (her mount), landing a short distance ahead. Grants Mirana and nearby allies a brief attack speed and movement speed bonus.
Moonlight Shadow (Ultimate): Turns Mirana and all allied heroes invisible for a duration. Invisibility returns after breaking within the ability’s window. Provides a team-wide escape and initiation option.

Skill order: Starstorm → Sacred Arrow → Leap → Moonlight Shadow.

- Starstorm (level 1) — last hitting and early harassment
- Sacred Arrow (level 2) — for kill potential with support

- Custom Sacred Arrow trajectory effect
The Mirana Arcana is a legacy item and is not currently available through normal purchase channels, making it one of the more sought-after collectibles on the Steam Marketplace.
Mirana Pros and Cons
Strengths: very long range stun, good escape, good nukes, good waveclear, long attack range. Weaknesses: vulnerable to disables, requires good aim, rather squishy.
Sacred Arrow Tips
Sacred Arrow’s stun duration scales from 0 seconds at close range to 5 seconds at maximum range. Practically:
- The arrow needs to travel at least 80% of its maximum distance for the stun to be useful in kills
- Cast the arrow slightly ahead of moving targets rather than directly at them
- Combine with Earthshaker’s Fissure or Lion’s Hex to set up stationary targets
- The arrow passes through creeps: make sure the target is not standing behind allied creeps when casting
