4 min

Marvel Rivals has 9 competitive ranks with 23 total rank divisions, from Bronze III at the bottom to One Above All at the very top. Understanding how each rank works, what the point thresholds are, where the average player sits, and what rewards you earn for climbing is essential before queuing into ranked play.

All Marvel Rivals Ranks (Season 7.5)

Marvel Rivals splits ranked play into nine tiers. The first seven tiers each contain three divisions (III to I, where I is the highest), and the top two tiers sit above the division system entirely.

RankDivisionsPoint RequirementNotes
BronzeIII, II, I100 pts per divisionStarting rank
SilverIII, II, I100 pts per division
GoldIII, II, I100 pts per division
PlatinumIII, II, I100 pts per divisionAverage/median player
DiamondIII, II, I100 pts per division
GrandmasterIII, II, I100 pts per divisionElite skill required
CelestialIII, II, I100 pts per divisionTop-tier coordination

One Above AllNo divisionsTop 500 players onlyHighest rank

Every rank up to Eternity takes 300 rank points to clear, split across three divisions of 100 points each. Beyond Eternity, the game stops using divisions and ranks you based on your raw points and leaderboard position.

In total, that is 23 individual ranks from Bronze III through Celestial I, plus Eternity and One Above All above the division system.

How to Unlock Ranked Mode

At level 10, you will unlock Marvel Rivals’ ranked mode, which sees two teams consisting of players of a similar skill level duking it out in matches that last for multiple rounds.

Level 10 is achievable within the first few hours of playing Quick Play matches.

How Points Work

Each rank requires 100 points to advance. Players generally need 4 to 6 wins to rank up, depending on match performance. Performance factors include individual contribution, team coordination, and win/loss margin.

Winning earns points. Losing loses them. The exact formula is not officially disclosed, but:

  • Win streaks accelerate progression, especially in lower ranks
  • Individual performance within a loss reduces the points lost
  • The Chrono Shield prevents rank drops below division floors when activated

Rank Distribution (May 2026)

The average and median Marvel Rivals player sits around Platinum, while the top tiers stay tiny because Eternity and One Above All require thousands of grindy ranked points against increasingly stacked lobbies.

The rank distribution pyramid:

  • Bottom heavy: Bronze and Silver hold the majority of occasional players
  • Middle peak: Gold and Platinum are the most populated ranks among active players
  • Sharp dropoff: Diamond through Celestial represent a small percentage
  • Tiny elite: Eternity and One Above All are the upper fractions of a percent of the player base

Grandmaster and Above: What Changes

Grandmaster represents the elite level of Marvel Rivals. You not only require mechanical skill at this rank, but also great strategic insight and outstanding team leadership. Grandmaster players often make decisive calls and can turn the tide of a match. Their gameplay is typically marked by high consistency and the ability to perform under extreme pressure.

The Celestial tier is the last rank with tiers. While Celestial players can shine individually, they are also expected to contribute significantly to coordinated team play.

Eternity and One Above All

Beyond Eternity, the game stops using divisions and ranks you based on your raw points and leaderboard position. Only the top 500 players in a region achieve One Above All, which resets at the end of each season.

One Above All is not a permanent status. It resets each season, requiring players to maintain top 500 standing across the entire player base.

Rewards for Climbing

Marvel Rivals competitive mode offers exclusive cosmetics tied to rank milestones. The specific rewards change each season. Reaching Celestial and above typically earns hero skins and animated sprays not available through any other in-game source.

Matchmaking Restrictions

Players generally need to be within a certain rank range to queue together. The restrictions become stricter at higher ranks to prevent large skill gaps between teammates. A Bronze player cannot queue with a Grandmaster player because the difference in skill level would create unfair matches.
