Abyss chosen by G2, but marked by the LOUD victory in VCT Americas

The first map, Abyss, was the choice of the North American representative, G2 Esports. This choice was expected, as G2 had achieved good performances on it. Furthermore, Abyss had only seen a single LOUD victory in VCT Americas previously.
In the compositions, we saw both teams making the same previous choices. For G2, we saw Neon, Waylay, Astra, Harbor, and Sova. This agent selection is well-known for the speed of the duelists and the support coming from the controllers.
Meanwhile, LOUD opted to play with Waylay, Yoru, Omen, Harbor, and Sova. If one side had speed, the other had surprise and information. Yoru, besides being a fast duelist, acts as a major surprise factor, leaving any type of movement or execution open to interpretation.
Round by round
In the first half, we saw LOUD dominating the defensive side. Even with G2 managing to plant the spike in practically every round, Verduxa’s retake was imposing. Because of this, the lead grew steadily, finishing with a 9-3 score.
At the side swap, it was expected, given the composition, that G2 would have a recovery. However, the exact opposite happened. Verduxa did not let the game cool down, securing all the remaining rounds. With this, the LOUD victory in VCT Americas began on the Abyss map, which finished 13-3.
In fact, it was exactly the same thing that happened in the game between 100 Thieves and NRG, where 100T won the opponent’s map choice with a 9-3 half that turned into a 13-3 shortly after.
Summit becomes LOUD’s stage

Immediately following, we had the map Summit, a choice by LOUD. After the initial LOUD victory in VCT Americas, another Brazilian masterclass was expected. With that, we had the agent selection phase, with the teams showing familiar compositions.
On G2’s side, we had Neon, Harbor, Viper, Fade, and Vyse—agents very characteristic of the North American team. With them, the team sought to isolate regions, nullifying the opponent’s advance and ensuring favorable duels.
Meanwhile, LOUD entered the map choosing to play with Neon, Fade, Omen, Chamber, and Sage. This way, they secured good anchors with Sage and Chamber, in addition to delaying the opponent’s control.
Round by round
Right at the start of the match, we saw a totally dominant LOUD. For 6 long rounds, G2 could not achieve anything. Even though they managed to score some points shortly after, LOUD remained unstoppable.
Furthermore, each kill guaranteed great ultimate points, which further strengthened the rounds to come. Consequently, the first half ended at 8-4, with LOUD moving to the defensive side.
Finally, the second half of the map proceeded in the same way as the first. With every point, the LOUD victory in VCT Americas became more evident. So, after much anticipation and crowd support, LOUD closed the map at 13-6. In doing so, they secured their qualification for the VCT Americas lower bracket final against NRG.
