Paper Rex kicked off the tournament with a hard-fought win over Team Liquid. First, the Pacific squad crushed Ascent 13-4, but Liquid answered on Haven with a 13-7 win.
On the deciding map, Lotus, PRX closed it out 13-10. Next, G2 Esports gave TYLOO no room to breathe and won 2-0, starting the Americas campaign on the right foot.
Group D Matches
Group D put two champions face to face right away. NRG, the reigning world champions, beat Masters Santiago winners Nongshim RedForce 2-0.
After that, French side Karmine Corp also swept Xi Lai Gaming 2-0. As a result, NRG and Karmine Corp now meet for a direct playoff spot.
Group B Matches
In the Group B Matches, Team Vitality needed all three maps to get past Global Esports, the Pacific’s top seed. Meanwhile, LOUD dominated EDward Gaming with a 13-8 win on Lotus and a 13-5 win on Summit.

100 Thieves beat T1 2-0, although it was not without a scare. On Summit, they jumped out to a 5-1 lead, fell behind 7-5 at halftime, and then came back to close it 13-8.
Shortly after, Turkish team FUT Esports defeated JD Gaming 2-0. Consequently, JDG became the fourth Chinese team to lose its opener.

tkzin’s 3 Aces were the biggest highlight of the round. At just 18 years old, Enzo “tkzin” Zimiani was playing his first international series and became the first player to record three aces in a single Champions series.

- Second ace: also on Lotus, matching the previous record of two aces in one series.
- Third ace: on Summit, breaking the record outright.
Ultimately, tkzin finished the series with 47 kills, 24 deaths, and 7 assists. Notably, he joined LOUD on loan from KRÜ Spark midway through the season.

Another stat stood out across the opening series:
- Americas: 4 series wins and 8 maps won, with zero losses.
- EMEA: 3 wins, with Team Liquid as the only loss.
- Pacific: only Paper Rex won its opener.
- China: 4 losses and not a single map won on home soil.
